Identifying water vapor sources of precipitation in forest and grassland in the north slope of the Tianshan Mountains, Central Asia

Identifying water vapor sources in the natural vegetation of Tianshan Mountains is significant importance for obtaining greater knowledge about cycle, forecasting resource changes, and dealing with adverse effects climate change. In this study, we identified precipitation evaluated their on stable isotopes north slope Mountains, China. By utilizing temporal spatial distributions forest grassland regions, Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory (HYSPLIT) model, isotope mass balance obtained following results. (1) The Eurasia, Black Sea, Caspian Sea are major vapor. (2) contribution surface evaporation to forests lower than that grasslands (except spring), while plant transpiration (5.35%) higher (3.79%) summer. (3) underlying temperature main factors affect recycled precipitation; meanwhile, counteracted by other environmental factors. Overall, work will prove beneficial quantifying effect change local cycles.
